Watch Me Grow

A Second Date

I got word that Lacey was coming over for Mommy to babysit for a few hours this evening so I thought I should get out and mow the lawn.

Photobucket

See! I'm really mowing.

Mommy's Little Hero.

Taking a break. Mowing grass is hard work for babies.

Trekking up and down stairs to burn off some nervous energy.

I made it to the top. I'm King of the World!!!

Showing off one of my new faces. Isn't it fabulous.

"Are you proud of me Mr. Scarecrow?"

Mommy handed me a flower to give to Lacey upon her arrival - like they do in Hawaii.

...Tasting it instead...

She loves me...she loves me not...

She loves me! I knew it.

I think I see her!!!

My bride has arrived.

Fighting over her teething ring right off the bat.

She let out a big squeal when I stole it from her.

So...I thought I'd better give it back.

Since it started to get windy, we moved indoors to Luke's Playland. I wasn't too keen on getting girl cooties on my stuff.

Lacey told me she's getting one of these in pink. I can't wait to drag race this summer. It is ON!

...More girl cooties...

While her back was turned, I stole her teething ring again. Don't tell. She thinks I'm an innocent little boy.

Fighting over toys that I never play with...

Brother was a huge hit with Lacey. I, however, have heard all his stories before and it was old hat for me.

"You're not having any more babies, right???" I was not too happy that Mommy was holding and enjoying another baby besides ME.

"Promise me, Woman!"

We took a quick snack break. Notice how calm Lacey is during feedings.

And...this is me during feedings...

After getting my little behind busted for playing with the trashcan (which is a big NO Touch, and I know better), I noticed someone was sitting in MY seat.

Ya think if I pull this string, she'll fall out like a parachute?

She was fascinated by my Old Navy socks. That's right babe, I got gear.

She was fascinated by the handiwork her Daddy did building our new bannister!

We went back downstairs to Luke's Playland to enjoy some more toys. This is the one toy we really liked to play with together (for a few minutes anyway).

Don't tell Mom. I'm on the lam.

Just a few videos showing one of the few smiles you'll see from me during this post. I enjoyed giggling and dancing at Lacey thru the bars.

Then I entertained her with my favorite toy: the basket liner.

Notice how Lacey is entralled that I can scream and run head first with a basket liner on my head. My parents must be so proud.

"Mommy, did you tell her that's a No Touch!" Don't worry Brandi, it wasn't on.

Playing (wrestling) over my Alphabet Train. I tried to show her how to do her ABC's but she insisted on trying to drive it!

GEESH! Girls.

After a quick bath, we met back at the Love Seat for our official picture from the visit. Notice where my finger is, and the look on Lacey's face.

Think I can talk her into a Third Date, folks?

Big Boy Brushing

Big news at the Saunders House! I've started to express interest in brushing my teeth so Mommy and Daddy picked me up my very own baby Elmo brush and toothpaste.

I wasn't sure about it all, at first...

Look at me go! Big Boy Brushing!

It even matches my outfit! Yeah...Mommy's a freak. Don't tell anyone, but she looked high and low to find me a Rainforest toothbrush. FREAK!

Trying to convince Daddy to just let me do it! GEESH.

Thanks, Daddy - but I think I can do better myself. You're too messy, mister!

Told 'ya I knew how to do it.

"What do you MEAN you don't just chew on it? I thought that counted as brushing?"

"BETTER???" Mommy's such a nag.

"That's right ladies....your Luke is now minty fresh!"

Don't let the slobber mislead you chicas - I'm Rico Suave!

See - it's official! And...I'm the only male that Mommy lets use her bathroom (at least until I start potty training - then it's downstairs to the stinky Boy Bathroom!)

Since I did such a good job big boy brushing, Mommy let me pilfer her bathroom drawers and play with my new favorite electrical appliance - her curling iron!

Oh what a night - can you believe how big I'm getting! I have a total of 8 teeth now - 'bout time!

Another milestone for your favorite Baby Luke. Let's all pause as Mommy wipes the tears.

Just Call Me 'Scooter'

I spent today with Mim and Poppy and got to terrorize the Saunders Compound. And when I got home, it was still pretty outside so I went out to enjoy it. You never know when you're gonna get 6 feet of SNOW around here!

Can you find me...Where's Waldo?

Wonder if I put my behind up - think it would block Mommy's view long enough for me to eat some grass?

Hurry up and distract her - Here I go!

Waiting for Brother to throw the ball to us.

1-2-3 - THROW IT!

"Hey Daddy - I think it's gonna be a curve ball."

I'm outta here!

Check out the shirt Mim got me:
I'm Not Lucky, I'm Just Cute! So true....

Think I can catch it?

Hey look - it's Brother's scooter!!!

Hey Mr. Scarecrow - don't tell on me, ok!

If you're asked...You don't know anything...
right?!

Practicing my favorite past-time....climbing stairs!

I want on too!

I'm watching - I promise.

"Hey Daddy - Brother won't let me on it!"

Brother's going over to plead his case.

"I'm watching - I'm watching how to do it, lemme at it!"

Looking at Mommy for a quick pic.

Wondering which car I want to take out for a test drive.

"I promise I'll bring it back with a full tank of gas. I just wanna go take Lacey out for pizza."

Maybe I can get around faster on Brother's scooter.

I've been watching how to do it. I'm a pro.

I promise I won't go out in the road. Why must you doubt me?

Daddy "insisted" on showing me how to do it.

Who's he kiddin? I can totally outrun this old man.

Ok, here we go...

Wheeee!!!!!

In a race against Brother (who runs like a lumberjack, Daddy says)...

Go Baby Go!

I'm such a Daredevil.

At this rate, I'll be driving any minute now.

I'm a Pro-Scooter Rider - I'll be out on tour soon. Get your tickets now.

Just add scootering to my list of talents.

Peek-A-Boo Mommy!

Running a tackle play to Daddy.

I'm Open!

Distracted by a tennis ball.

Stop everything! I see something sparkly.

"But that red flasher would taste good - you KNOW it would Daddy."

Ok folks - think I'll turn Pro-Scooter soon?

"I don't wanna put it up yet!!!! C'mon - you don't know how to party!"

...I hear tomorrow's gonna be pretty too!!!....Who knows what I'll get into. Stay Tuned.

Rockin' Out At Mim & Poppy's

It's Blog Post # 50!!! Can you believe it??!!! Has everyone kept up?

Ok, so you guys know every Friday night, Brother and I get to stay away from home and journey to Mim and Poppy's. It's a real treat! I look forward to it every week.

Pondering what I'll get into during this visit....

Maybe I'll cut another tooth while I'm here. Uhhhh...I'm not grouchy or anything when I'm cutting teeth. Mim and Poppy would love to experience it.

Look at me back in the summer - I needed a walker to help me get around their house.

Ahhh...those were the days. Mim could just throw me in it and I couldn't chase the cats very far at all.

Look, I couldn't even walk outside without it - boy, can I get around now! I believe my toes are standing on the exact spot Mommy took a face dive playing football a few Christmas seasons ago before I was born.

Speaking of which...here's a few pics from this past Christmas Saunders-O-Rama.

"When's it MY turn to open presents?" and..."Why are you smiling the same way, Daddy?"

Here we are present-day Mim and Poppy's house. Like Daddy's tie drawer, I have a favorite drawer here too - its full of metal measuring cups.

This calls for a two-fisted grab! Mr. Aspercreme should really be here for this - maybe next visit he'll join in the festivities.

Let's see how loud this will be against this tile floor... (Notice the over-turned dog water bowl - I can neither confirm nor deny that its another favorite activity of mine to turn over the bowl and play with the water)

Now, let's rearrange the furniture in here - I could really do wonders with this place! I'm all about wicker.

Taking a break from the action by reading a flip-flap book - my favorites!

It's always a good time dumping things in and out of my truck. Great Mess!

Hey - Hey!!! What do we have here???? A cat!

"I promise, Mim - I barely chased her."

I'm so good with kittens - what can I say! I'm a natural. Just like Mommy and even her grandmother - kids...animals...the more she hates 'em, the more they come around.

Also, like my Daddy's ties, Mim has a super silky shirt that gave me hours of entertainment by twirling it around. "What!?! It takes great skill to swirl silk." Hey - you think Lollie the Devil Cat would let me drape this silk shirt on her and swirl her around the living room???? C'mon!

Thanks Mim & Poppy for giving us our Friday Night Fun!

Rockin' out really wears a baby out!

Hope you all have great Fridays like me!

Playdate at the Park

Since it was nearly 80 degrees (in March!!!) today, I met Lacey for a hot date at the park. I even drove down to meet her in my red sportscar.

Off we go! I even have my shades so I can look cool...just like daddy - my shirt even says so!

We met at the Baby Swings.

Lacey hadn't taken a nap all day so she was in no mood to mess with me.

"Hey Mommy, why is Lacey crying? There's no crying in swinging!"

Is that a slicky slide I see over there?

Daddy and Brother prepared me for the journey.

"OK - How'd I do??? Am I still alive???"

Daddy went down the swirly slide with me.

Now what's next for babies to conquer?

For my first time walking on playground gravel, with new sandals, I think I did pretty well!

Check out my short-britches Mommy put on me. She swears these just fit a few weeks ago.

Looking for pigeon poop.

Look at me! Big Boy at the Playground!

I think my britches kept getting shorter and shorter as the day went on. Mommy may just cut them off and be all white-trash and make them into shorts for the summer.

Chasing after the big kids.

I wasn't sure who any of these boys were, but it looked like great fun, so I ran over to investigate further.

Doin' a dance to help Lacey fall in love with me. The ladies love a man who can dance.

Running across the field to catch Daddy. I think I ran at least six miles to get to him. That's what it was in baby-steps.

Lacey and her Mommy watching me show off.

I'm not quite sure if I like this swing better or not.

"Do you love me Mommy?"

"Is that Daddy? Does he have a ball?"

Mommy's favorite picture of the day.

That Gatorade bottle looks mighty tasty.

See her looking up at me with love in her eyes.

Lacey's Daddy and Sisters kept Brother busy by making him dizzy in the tire swing.

I wanna be next! Think I could sneak over there?

Look, I'm a groundhog - I see my shadow!

Six more weeks of Hurricane Luke!

Chasing Brother to get the ball. If there's a ball within a tri-county radius - I have to have it.

Playing a game of kick ball - that's right - I made the team.

Getting ready to make the winning kick to impress Lacey.

Daddy caught it and came to tackle me.

I could've made a better kick if the sun wasn't in my eyes.

"I'm ready...I'm ready!"

Facing the wrong way during a throw.

We took a brief intermission so Daddy and I could swing a bit.

I'm too nosey to actually look away from the kids and look at Mommy for a picture.

I caught the ball and brought it home to score!

"Did Lacey see that?"

In total amazement...

Asking Lacey's sisters for advice on dating.

After we'd had all the fun we could stand, we called it a day and I drove back home.

Outdoors really wears babies out. Especially if your Mommy doesn't put any sunscreen on you and your cheeks get pink!

I can't wait to tell Cubbie all about my date at the park - I'm sleeping on him now (that's his tail sticking up underneath my head).

Love to all my fans,

Sweet Baby Luke

Adventures At Granny's

Granny, Pappaw and Amanda get to see me every single day now that Daddy's teaching during the day and evening. They are lucky people, I tell ya.

I'm a blessing to all that know me, right???

Say yes! Hee-Hee.

Do I Act Sick?

While Mommy's getting my next Adventures at Granny's blog entry ready, I wanted to go ahead and share what we did this weekend.

As you all remember, a few months ago I started pulling myself up to a standing position for the first time in a hamper. Well, that hamper has now collapsed and is pretty much useless so it's time to throw it away. Mommy's sad to see it go.

Eating Mum-Mums while playing with it one last time.

One final ride for ole' times sake.

That was so much fun - I'm gonna miss you Mr. Hamper!

"Do we really have to throw it away?"

"Maybe we could just keep it around as a toy for my amusement."

Hence the reason why we have to throw it away. Wonder how it got broken like this? Surely it wasn't me?

"Can we keep it, Mommy?"

"I promise I'll take care of it, feed it...take it for walks...ride in it..."

"C'mon...it's only slightly broken at the bottom."

"Why don't you love me Mommy?"

At that moment, Mommy realized something...Stop the Presses!

This isn't the hamper I stood up in for the first time all those months ago. Here's proof. See - the sides are much fatter. Also, notice how small I am - I could totally fit in it.

Yipppeee!!! We get to keep it!

Note From Mommy: Don't tell Luke but we are still throwing it away. He likes to gnaw on the sides and we're afraid he'll chew off one of the already-broken pieces. He's a wild man! I'm just glad it's not the one he stood up in for the first time - now I don't feel so sappy throwing it away.

Ok - Mommy's blog hijack over. Carry on.

So, I've been feeling a little yucky - snotty, coughing, generally just a big crank. I don't like to eat anything but snacks, so just to get me to eat something Mommy gave me one of my Apple Wheels for breakfast.

It feels good on my gums - its a tasty teether.

Whoops - I slobbered some of it out.

Giving my weasel face:

Singing Broadway show tunes....

My tiger face. RAWR!

What???? I really HAVE been good all year...(it's only March).

Mommy says I get my temper from her. This is a face she makes all the time at us boys.

When are the birds coming out? We have food out there for them!

"No Mommy, that's not my smudge on the left of the window. No, I didnt push my mouth against it and go back and forth licking the window."

Ok, now we've moved into the "Do I Act Sick" portion of our blog. My girlfriend Lacey has RSV so Mommy was convinced I had it now too. She even looked it up on WebMD (shut up Sheri - I know Mommy's a freak) and I had all the symptoms - so off to the ER we go.

We ended up at Women & Children's since the wait at Urgent Care was several HOURS and Lord only knows what I could get into inside an ER waiting room for that long. Daddy brought a Sudoku book to work on but I kept him busy all on my own.

"I'm hanging on to the car keys in case we need to make a quick getaway."

I was fine as long as Daddy was holding on to me. Mommy was too busy taking PICTURES!

"If I see just ONE needle...we're outta here!"

"Don't make me get all ROBIN on you."

I started to get a little antsy so luckily Mommy packed my favorite book.

If I could just see the Tiger, I'd feel much better.

OOOOH...Elephant - my next favorite animal sound.

Then we played peek-a-boo with the curtain.

"See Mommy...why can't you just relax and play like Daddy?"

Then Daddy did tricks with me to keep my mind off being sooooo sick.

"I don't think this is approved by the pediatrician, Daddy."

Do it again! Do it again!

The doctor came in and checked me and I was fine. Shocker.

"I know Mommy...you just wanted to make sure I was ok. I love you for that. But stay off of WebMd!"

"Told ya I wasn't sick Mommy!"

Well all that wore me OUT!

After we got back home, I assured Mr. Tie that I was ok and he didn't need to be worried.

"I know...but she was just making sure I was ok."

Showing Mr. Tie my room - in case he'd forgotten what it looked like.

Why is Daddy so tired? He's not the one who's chased ties all day long.

You guys know how much I love my Ming Ming duck from The Wonder Pets! She sings and dances. Well...I can now make her dance all by myself! I know how to push her toes and make her go! Check out my videos.

What a day!

So....Do I Act Sick?
