Watch Me Grow

Playdate at the Park

Since it was nearly 80 degrees (in March!!!) today, I met Lacey for a hot date at the park. I even drove down to meet her in my red sportscar.

Off we go! I even have my shades so I can look cool...just like daddy - my shirt even says so!

We met at the Baby Swings.

Lacey hadn't taken a nap all day so she was in no mood to mess with me.

"Hey Mommy, why is Lacey crying? There's no crying in swinging!"

Is that a slicky slide I see over there?

Daddy and Brother prepared me for the journey.

"OK - How'd I do??? Am I still alive???"

Daddy went down the swirly slide with me.

Now what's next for babies to conquer?

For my first time walking on playground gravel, with new sandals, I think I did pretty well!

Check out my short-britches Mommy put on me. She swears these just fit a few weeks ago.

Looking for pigeon poop.

Look at me! Big Boy at the Playground!

I think my britches kept getting shorter and shorter as the day went on. Mommy may just cut them off and be all white-trash and make them into shorts for the summer.

Chasing after the big kids.

I wasn't sure who any of these boys were, but it looked like great fun, so I ran over to investigate further.

Doin' a dance to help Lacey fall in love with me. The ladies love a man who can dance.

Running across the field to catch Daddy. I think I ran at least six miles to get to him. That's what it was in baby-steps.

Lacey and her Mommy watching me show off.

I'm not quite sure if I like this swing better or not.

"Do you love me Mommy?"

"Is that Daddy? Does he have a ball?"

Mommy's favorite picture of the day.

That Gatorade bottle looks mighty tasty.

See her looking up at me with love in her eyes.

Lacey's Daddy and Sisters kept Brother busy by making him dizzy in the tire swing.

I wanna be next! Think I could sneak over there?

Look, I'm a groundhog - I see my shadow!

Six more weeks of Hurricane Luke!

Chasing Brother to get the ball. If there's a ball within a tri-county radius - I have to have it.

Playing a game of kick ball - that's right - I made the team.

Getting ready to make the winning kick to impress Lacey.

Daddy caught it and came to tackle me.

I could've made a better kick if the sun wasn't in my eyes.

"I'm ready...I'm ready!"

Facing the wrong way during a throw.

We took a brief intermission so Daddy and I could swing a bit.

I'm too nosey to actually look away from the kids and look at Mommy for a picture.

I caught the ball and brought it home to score!

"Did Lacey see that?"

In total amazement...

Asking Lacey's sisters for advice on dating.

After we'd had all the fun we could stand, we called it a day and I drove back home.

Outdoors really wears babies out. Especially if your Mommy doesn't put any sunscreen on you and your cheeks get pink!

I can't wait to tell Cubbie all about my date at the park - I'm sleeping on him now (that's his tail sticking up underneath my head).

Love to all my fans,

Sweet Baby Luke

Well Luke, I'm glad you had a good time at the park with you little girlfriend. You looked really cute in your swing. By the way, you are way cooler than your daddy. I should know, I'm his sister. Love you

Mr. Luke,
I'm glad that you had fun at the park. I'm sure the two hour nap at my house gave you the stored energy to keep up with Brother and Daddy. Like you, your Aunt K forgot her sunscreen and played tennis for four hours Saturday. She wore her sunglasses and now looks like a demented raccoon! She says that you should slow down a little with the growing up; she's missing it all! Poppy and I will see you and Brother for our regular Friday night date. Love you like mad,
Madam Mim

Hey Luke you sure know the moves to impress the girls, dancing, taking the ball to home, swinging, and boy don't you look all out in your shades.
