Watch Me Grow

Halloween Now and Then

Earlier this week, Daddy took a few pictures after dinner. Pizza and birthday cake - what a face!

Ok - time for the big event we've all been waiting for!

I helped get the candy bowl ready for Mammaw to hand out candy! Such a big boy helping. Really I'm just scoping out which sucker I want.

On our way! I was able to carry my own bucket this year.

I had the most fun in our neighbor's yard. Rocks are my favorite toys right now and I was in heaven here! You'll be seeing more of my new friend Mr. Rock later on in this post...

Can you guys believe how big I'm getting??!!

Hitting one of the first stops. They had stairs! Another favorite of mine!

Mom tried to recapture a certain shadow shot from last year.

Remember....that's me on Daddy's shoulders. You can see my Yoda ears.

Brother was kind enough to trick or treat one last time so he could help (well...drag) me around the neighborhood.

Holy moley! Too many choices. What do you mean I just get ONE?!

Pablo out on the town!

Cute side shot.

I needed a quick break from all that walking.

Another "Now and Then" picture for you. Here's NOW...

And...THEN.

They had a new display up that I was fascinated with. Mommy told them that they have to keep putting these up every year so we can get a Now and Then running tally of pictures for my blog each year.

I lasted almost the whole 2 hours of treating! I was glad to see my home.

Before eating candy, Daddy wanted to get some real food in me first. We went with the old standby, Mini Ravioli.

"You know toes are involved when there's Ravioli, Daddy!"

Another messy mouth!

Ok - time for the good stuff. "I want THIS, Mommy!"

This smelled awfully good too.

But you can't go wrong with Candy Corn!

"You really can't go wrong! It's a classic!"

But....it's a bit chewy for those of us with only 10 teeth.

Taking a moment to "count" how many pieces I'd eaten so far.

Brother is showing me the different types of candy out there to pick from.

Ready for another one....Here I am NOW....

and THEN....man, I didn't even know what candy was back then!

Let's open my old friend, Mr. Lollipop.

Sticky lollipop, sitting on a library bag, holding brother's toy pirate dagger, in the formal living room....Mommy wasn't freaking out or anything...

Lollipops and Pirate Daggers....who's calling Child Protective Services?

Look at this mess!

Here's a video of me dancing on the candy - it's sideways because Mommy's not sure how to do 'rotation' on a blog video. But you get the idea...oh! and make sure to notice the giant pixie stick I'm using as a cane (and I also still have a sucker in my mouth without the safety handle on it). Granny's gonna FREAK OUT!

Daddy sat down and helped me organize my candy into stacks, because he's Obsessive Compulsive.

Remember earlier in the post about my new friend, Mr. Rock? Well....he came home in my bucket of candy - see him next to the Almond Joy.

"Can we keep him, Mommy?"

Daddy said we had to put him up for a minute until we got the candy sorted.

But I'm quick like lightening and got it back out of his hand and ran to the stairs.

Trying to decide where to hide my new friend.

Wonder how much damage I can do if I threw my new friend down this flight of stairs...

Let's see, shall we? Get ready Mr. Rock.

After the loud crash I ran for the Pirate Dagger for protection.

The parents caught up with me and now it's bath time! What a day!!!

But stay tuned, there's more to come from that evening. Once the candy sugar took effect I was jumping and dancing all over the living room. More to come....with a video!
